In my final years of art school I had an opportunity to have a solo show one of the best art gallery in Portland Maine. The June Fitzpatrick Gallery gave me the opportunity to have my show. I presented 14 pieces of art work I created from Jan 2000 to the week of the show in May 2000.

Each of my pieces of artwork represent 2 halves of people in my life. The “whole” artwork or vessel is seen as one entity, but when you take a closer look at the work, you will notice that the vessel is actually made of two vessels thrown on the wheel, cut, then attached to another section of another vessel.

Vessel 1

This looks like three vessels in one, it's actually a 16 inch cylinder (top) and then tapers on a round bowl all with crackle (copper on green). I made 2 additional cuts and twisted the cut section and then repeated it. This was intended to be viewed with the top vessel opening pointing to the viewer.

Vessel 2

The top round section has a 1“ opening with a copper crackle glaze. The bottom is a cylinder without glaze reduced in saw dust. From one angle this looks like a typical "vase" but when you look around it, you notice it's off to the right, or left depending on your view, like all relationships...
